Funding · German federal programme 2026
Up to €2,000 per parking space — and a deadline that will not wait
The German federal government is funding charging infrastructure in multi-party residential buildings with €500 million in total. Applications opened on 15 April 2026 and close on 10 November 2026. What matters now is not the amount but the order of events: application first, order second.
What is funded
The programme is called “Laden im Mehrparteienhaus” and targets existing buildings with three or more residential units. It funds not only the wallbox but the route to it — pre-cabling, charge points, grid connection and technical equipment. According to the federal government, staggered by what ends up at the parking space:
up to 1.300 €
Pre-cabled space
without a wallbox — the cabling is in, the point follows later
up to 1.500 €
Space with a wallbox
charging works here from day one
up to 2.000 €
Bidirectional point
the top rate — the vehicle can feed back too
Per parking space, capped at €2,000. Further stated conditions: at most 22 kW per charge point, at least 20% of existing spaces pre-cabled, at least six spaces electrified per building. Only the funding guideline is binding.
Sequence
Application first, order second
The most expensive mistake in a funded project is not a technical one. It is the order placed two weeks too early: after that the claim is gone, and no amendment brings it back.
Concept
Feasibility, survey, connection capacity and expansion stages — the facts the application has to describe.
Resolution
The owners' resolution, or the company's sign-off. Both need lead time.
Application
Through the federal portal, by the association or the company itself. Before any order.
Delivery
Installation, commissioning, grid registration — then load management and billing, which keep running.
Our part
What the funding pays for and we build
The grant covers the installation. Whether it holds up afterwards is decided by what happens between the grid connection and the parking space.
Power that goes round
22 kW per point across many points exceeds almost any house connection. Distributed dynamically, the existing one is enough.
Pre-cabled means later
The pre-cabling requirement anticipates expansion. Vendor-independent control also takes the wallbox that does not exist yet.
Billing per party
Funded installations in shared buildings charge for many. Every session is attributed and billed compliantly.
