aCharge does not build charging hardware — it operates it. Charge points connect over OCPP or Modbus TCP, from different manufacturers within one installation if need be. Behind that stand the energy companies and service providers that make the whole thing work — from the charge point through load management to billing.

Anyone building charge points today rarely buys everything from one manufacturer — and does not want to be locked into that decision five years from now. So aCharge connects over open interfaces rather than private ones.

Which wallboxes and charging stations run with aCharge
Charge points connect over OCPP or Modbus TCP — both open protocols, so vendor-independent by design. For some devices the integration goes deeper: their behaviour is mirrored in our test environment, so every change to load management is checked against it before it reaches a site.

Modbus TCP, with the register map on file — for these devices we know the behaviour, not just the protocol.
An Austrian automation manufacturer that has developed the KeContact charging range since 2009 and builds it in Linz. We connect KEBA charge points to TELECONTROL and DYLAMO over Modbus TCP and mirror their register map, so every change to load management is tested against real device behaviour before it reaches a site.

A Dortmund manufacturer of AC charging stations and wallboxes, part of the KOSTAL Group since 2023. Compleo eBox and Solo/Duo connect over Modbus TCP, each with its own register map in our test environment. Together with OCPP that means mixed sites of Compleo and third-party hardware run under one load-management system.

OCPP is vendor-neutral: whatever speaks it can be connected to an OCPP backend. The 135 models below, from 78 manufacturers, are known to speak OCPP — a statement about the device, not a claim that we have run every one of them ourselves. We confirm a model before it goes into an offer.
