# aCharge > aCharge is vendor-independent dynamic load and charge management, an OCPP > backend and metrology-compliant billing for professional EV charging > infrastructure. In German, the phrase the company uses for itself is > "Herstellerunabhängiges, dynamisches Last- und Lademanagement, Backend und > Abrechnung für professionelle Ladeinfrastruktur." > > The product family is two on-site load-management controllers (TELECONTROL > and DYLAMO) and a cloud-based charge point management system — a CPMS, in > German "Ladesäulenverwaltung" — called aCharge Cloud. It is developed by > ACEMO GmbH in Aachen, Germany, and sold and supported by POSID > TECHNOLOGIES GmbH in Hürth, Germany. The limit when expanding charging infrastructure is rarely the charge point — it is the building's grid connection. aCharge closes that gap with dynamic load management on site and metrology-compliant (Eichrecht) billing in the cloud, without a grid upgrade. Charge points are connected over OCPP or Modbus TCP, so mixed-vendor sites work. ## Products - [aCharge Cloud](https://www.acharge.de/produkte/acharge-cloud/): Cloud-based charge point management system (CPMS). Connects charge points over OCPP 1.6, OCPP 1.6 Security and OCPP 2.0.1. Access control and RFID cards, tariffs and vouchers, automatic metrology-compliant invoicing with SEPA or card collection, ad-hoc charging by QR code without registration, roaming via Hubject (OICP 2.3) and OCPI 2.2.1 with automated payouts, shared charging, reporting, a mobile app, and an in-product AI assistant called Amber. Operable white-label under a partner's own brand. Designed to scale from a single site to hundreds of thousands of charge points in one installation. - [aCharge TELECONTROL](https://www.acharge.de/produkte/acharge-telecontrol/): Entry-level on-site controller. Single-stage dynamic load management over standardized interfaces — potential-free contacts, Modbus TCP and EEBus. Meets the requirements for grid-serving control under § 14a EnWG. Keeps running and regulating during an internet outage and re-synchronises afterwards. Limits compared with DYLAMO: Modbus charge points only, one meter, manages only the controller itself. - [aCharge DYLAMO](https://www.acharge.de/produkte/acharge-dylamo/): Full-featured on-site controller. Dynamic, multi-dimensional load management across mixed-vendor charge points connected by OCPP or Modbus TCP, plus heat pumps, PV inverters and transformers. Up to 1,000 charge points per site. Remote monitoring, automatic metrology-compliant billing, § 14a EnWG compliant. - [Comparison](https://www.acharge.de/produkte/vergleich/): TELECONTROL versus DYLAMO versus Cloud, row by row. - [Load management explained](https://www.acharge.de/lastmanagement/): What dynamic load management does, with an interactive simulation of a full charging day. - [Was ist ein CPMS?](https://www.acharge.de/cpms/): Definitional page for the category. CPMS = Charge Point Management System; the German terms for the same thing are Ladesäulenverwaltung, Ladepunktmanagement and Backend. Covers the four things any CPMS must do (access, tariffs, billing, operation) and — the distinction most often got wrong — how a CPMS differs from load management: load management decides how much power a charge point may draw and runs locally, a CPMS decides who may charge at what price and runs in the cloud. - [Förderung für Ladeinfrastruktur](https://www.acharge.de/foerderung/): The German federal programme "Laden im Mehrparteienhaus" — EUR 500 million, applications from 15 April 2026 to 10 November 2026 (15 October for large housing portfolios, a separate competitive procedure). Existing buildings with three or more residential units; owners' associations, private landlords, SMEs and housing companies may apply, single-family homes may not. Per parking space the federal announcement states up to EUR 1,300 pre-cabled without a wallbox, EUR 1,500 with one and EUR 2,000 for a bidirectional point, capped at 22 kW per charge point with at least 20 percent of existing spaces pre-cabled and at least six electrified. The application must precede the order. Acemo does not administer this subsidy: binding conditions are at laden-im-mehrparteienhaus.de. - [Abrechnung für Ladeinfrastruktur](https://www.acharge.de/abrechnung/): How charging sessions become invoices, and what German metrology law (Eichrecht) requires. The chain is measure → sign → attribute → bill: the calibrated metering capsule sits in the charge point and signs start and end readings together with timestamps and session identity in OCMF format, so the figure cannot be altered afterwards; the backend attributes the signed record to an access medium, applies a tariff, invoices and archives it. Billability is therefore decided by the hardware, not by the software vendor. Covers the four commercial constellations — employer and employee (including home wallboxes for company cars), owners' association and parties, operator and drivers (ad-hoc by QR code, card, roaming), and fleet cost-centre allocation. - [§ 14a EnWG](https://www.acharge.de/paragraf-14a-enwg/): The regulation, explained for charge points. Controllable devices above 4.2 kW on the low-voltage grid must be reducible on the grid operator's request; the operator may no longer refuse the connection, may only intervene for grid reasons rather than commercial ones, and must leave a minimum power available. Compensation comes as reduced grid fees, selectable in modules. The distinction that matters: throttling each device individually versus meeting the setpoint at the connection with an energy management system, which distributes the reduction by the operator's own priorities instead of blindly. - [PV-Überschussladen](https://www.acharge.de/pv-ueberschussladen/): Charging on the solar power that would otherwise be exported. The governing limit is the charging standard itself — about 6 A minimum, roughly 1.4 kW on one phase and 4.2 kW on three — so below that there is no partial charging, only on or off. Surplus must be measured at the grid connection, not at the inverter, and wallbox, heat pump and house battery have to share one control loop or the battery wins. Three priorities per access medium: solar only, normal, maximum. - [OCPP-Backend für Ladestationen](https://www.acharge.de/ocpp-backend/): The technical side. OCPP 1.6, 1.6 Security and 2.0.1 over WebSocket/TLS, cross-vendor, AC and DC; roaming over OICP 2.3 and OCPI 2.2.1; metrology-compliant billing with OCMF; operable white-label under a partner's own brand. - [Backend wechseln](https://www.acharge.de/backend-wechseln/): For operators leaving a backend that was discontinued or no longer fits — including EVBox customers stranded by the Everon shutdown on 1 December 2025. Charge points connected over OCPP are re-pointed at another backend by changing the endpoint URL configured in the station; new hardware is the exception. Five data points settle whether an estate can be connected: manufacturer, model, firmware version, number of charge points, and whether the operator can reach the station's configuration interface. That last one, not the protocol, is the usual blocker. - [Ladeinfrastruktur für Hausverwaltungen](https://www.acharge.de/ladeinfrastruktur-hausverwaltung/): What charging infrastructure means for a German property manager (Hausverwaltung) specifically — who counts as the operator, which recurring inspection duties apply, how billing towards owners is handled without manual work, and what happens at a change of managing agent. Distinct from https://www.acharge.de/ladeinfrastruktur-mehrfamilienhaus/, which covers the building itself, and from the referral programme at https://www.acharge.de/partner/hausverwaltungen/. ## Pricing aCharge TELECONTROL costs 1.485 EUR and aCharge DYLAMO 3.136 EUR, each once per site. A charge point licence is 62 EUR for TELECONTROL and 110 EUR for DYLAMO, once per connected charge point. All net of VAT. Neither controller carries a recurring fee: after purchase the load management itself costs nothing per month and nothing per charge point. Dealer and large-account pricing on request; upgrading from TELECONTROL to DYLAMO is possible. aCharge Cloud is the separate, recurring part: it starts at 2 EUR per charge point per month. Current tiers and exact figures are published on the customer portal at https://cloud.acharge.de/pricing — that page is the authoritative source for the subscription. ## Companies Two companies stand behind aCharge, with distinct roles: - **ACEMO GmbH** — development. Charge points are connected over open interfaces — OCPP or Modbus TCP — so aCharge is not tied to any one manufacturer, and the hardware named here is not an exhaustive list of what it runs with. - [Technologiepartner](https://www.acharge.de/technologiepartner/): Overview page. Partner companies: - TankE (Charging infrastructure & operations): A RheinEnergie subsidiary in Cologne that plans, builds and operates charging infrastructure — for industry and logistics, fleets, the property sector, municipalities and utilities. In Cologne alone TankE runs more than 850 public charge points. - Techem (Property services & billing): An energy services provider for the property sector, offering in-building charging as a complete package — from installation through technical operation to per-tenant, consumption-accurate billing of the charging electricity. - Univers (Energy software): Provider of the EnOS™ energy operating system, with its German base in Munich. Its charging solutions are built to be vendor-independent and combine with PV and storage — for fleets, residential property, hotels and car dealerships. - MEGA (Municipal utility & contracting): The municipal utility of Monheim am Rhein, running some 45 public and 40 semi-public charge points alongside electricity, gas and broadband. For businesses and owners' associations it offers charging infrastructure on a contracting model — operations, billing and support included. - EBERO FAB (Infrastructure distribution): A nationwide German distributor for technical infrastructure, handling advice, product supply and logistics for entire construction projects from one source — supplying a project over its lifetime rather than selling individual components. - GEWISS (Electrical equipment & charging hardware): An Italian manufacturer of electrical equipment based near Bergamo, producing installation and distribution technology alongside charging infrastructure — the latter under its own JOINON brand, from wallbox to DC charger. Charging hardware aCharge is known to run with. This is a statement about which devices have been worked with, not a partnership claim, and it is not exhaustive — over OCPP the platform is vendor-independent by design. Every device in both lists below runs over OCPP. The two groups differ in how deeply the device is known, not in whether it works. These run over OCPP and are additionally connected over Modbus TCP, with the manufacturer's register map reproduced in ACEMO's own test environment, so load-management changes are verified against real device behaviour before release: - KEBA: An Austrian automation manufacturer that has developed the KeContact charging range since 2009 and builds it in Linz. We connect KEBA charge points to TELECONTROL and DYLAMO over Modbus TCP and mirror their register map, so every change to load management is tested against real device behaviour before it reaches a site. - Compleo: A Dortmund manufacturer of AC charging stations and wallboxes, part of the KOSTAL Group since 2023. Compleo eBox and Solo/Duo connect over Modbus TCP, each with its own register map in our test environment. Together with OCPP that means mixed sites of Compleo and third-party hardware run under one load-management system. - Alfen: Connected over Modbus TCP, with its register map mirrored. Alfen signs meter values in its own format rather than OCMF; our calibration-law verification handles both, so Alfen datasets verify without a detour. - Alpitronic: DC fast charging. Connected over Modbus TCP with its register map mirrored; signed OCMF datasets from a HYC run as a standing test case in our calibration-law verification. - MENNEKES: The Amtron range connects over Modbus TCP and its register map sits in our test environment — every load-management change is checked against it before it reaches a site. - Walther-Werke: The smartEVO duo+ connects over Modbus TCP. It runs the same Bender charge controller as the Amtron and is carried in the same test environment with its own register values. - Peblar: Connected over Modbus TCP with its register map mirrored — the only one of these that also carries its own test beside the simulation, so the register behaviour itself is checked automatically. These also run over OCPP, with no vendor-specific handling on the aCharge side. Only the manufacturer is stated; no register map is held for them, and none is needed to operate them over OCPP: - go-e - Hardy Barth - ABL - ABB - Schneider Electric - Kinetos Beyond those, 136 charge-point models from 78 manufacturers are known to speak OCPP and can therefore be connected. That is a statement about the devices, not a claim that ACEMO has operated each one; a model is confirmed before it goes into an offer.
